Inspection Records to Bring to a Salt Lake City Appraisal Request
Keep the inspection report, dated repair records and permit information with your valuation request; a condition concern needs its own professional assessment.
Inspection records and your appraisal request
An appraisal request and a home inspection answer different questions. If you already have an inspection report, share it with the proposed appraiser and identify repairs or changes made since its date. Do not use an appraisal website to diagnose a structural or safety concern.
Separate condition at the requested date from later work
For an estate or other past-date request, identify when an issue was observed, when repairs occurred and which photographs describe the earlier condition. A present-day inspection does not by itself establish the home's condition years earlier.
Assemble the Salt Lake City records you have
Salt Lake City's permits page links to zoning information and its permit and land-management portal. Include available plans, permit references and completion records with the parcel number. A permit entry alone does not establish completion, legal occupancy or added market value. Use the property's actual municipality when it is outside Salt Lake City.
